Metropolitan
Supportive Services Advisory Committee
In 2005, the Minnesota
legislature
appropriated $10 million for the biennium to fund supportive services
in permanent supportive housing for people experiencing long-term
homelessness. The nature of this legislation requires strong
partnerships to integrate housing and services, with priority given to
multi-county proposals. The metro area of Anoka, Carver,
Dakota,
Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties worked together to
submit an application and were awarded $5 million.
MESH
was invited by the seven metro counties to assemble and chair metro
supportive services advisory committee to advise the metro counties
implementation of the Supportive Services Fund. This advisory
committee is comprised of members from non-profit housing and service
providers, local, state and federal government, people who have
experienced homelessness and private funders. For more
